Discover the Beauty of the English Lake District

Broughton-in-Furness is on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park and a short distance from the sea in the Duddon estuary. Dating to the 11th century, this attractive Georgian market town is on the Furness Peninsula. It serves an unspoilt but very attractive hinterland that includes the rolling hills of the peninsula and the extensive sands in the Duddon estuary. Hotel accommodation in Broughton and nearby coastal Foxfield would seem to be mostly in the built up area and in old inns, which, in some cases, are over four hundred years old. Real ale is a speciality in the Lake District and especially so in the inns and pubs of Broughton-inFurness, alongside, very often, restaurants with good food. There are other hotels also in the neighbouring towns like Millom, Ulverston and Kirkby-in-Furness and the rural areas in between.
