Broughton-in-Furness is a small town on the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park in the Furness region of Cumbria. It is near the River Duddon, just inland from the coastal village of Foxfield which also now contains the towns closest railway station. The original 11th century settlement developed into a market town for fishing and agriculture. There is a fine example of a Georgian square in its centre with an obelisk, that was constructed to mark the Jubilee of King George III in 1810. Broughton and the Duddon valley are well served by a range of bed and breakfast (b&b) establishments. Bed and breakfast is also available in local hotels and inns.
